Our mission:
The Denman Community Housing Society works with the Denman Island community to develop and operate secure, sustainable affordable housing.

We are a registered charity that aims to provide permanently affordable housing at below-market rates for low- and modest-income households on Denman Island.

Denman Community Housing is currently working on two affordable housing projects: Denman Green and the Works Yard. Denman Green is a proposed 20-unit apartment project to be located on land owned by DCH that has been zoned for affordable housing. The Works Yard is a property that currently houses a works yard on Denman Island. The owner has agreed to donate a portion of this property, pending successful approval to sub-divide and re-zone it.

Sue Hammell’s home on Piercy was the only place to be during the early evening on Saturday, May 9th. This was the scene of the Denman Community Housing Society House of Scarves event. The 50 or so guests were greeted at the door with a warm welcome, a glass of wine and an invitation to stroll the Grand Hall that featured dozens of colourful scarves meticulously hung between the massive posts. All were offered for purchase. A table of jewelry featured an eclectic range of items; all for sale as well.
